2012 Player Rating And Review - Drew Moor

Even in a down season, Drew Moor was a fine player for the Rapids in 2012

Byron Hetzler-US PRESSWIRE

Through the month of December, Burgundy Wave will do a short review of every player who received even a paltry sum of minutes in 2012. We start with the goalkeepers and then move our way up to the forwards. Today, we'll cover Drew Moor.

Name: Drew Moor
Number: 3
Appearances: 34
Stats: 3060 minutes played, 3 G, 2 A

Here's a prediction: Drew Moor will not wear the captain's armband next year. Rather, it will probably go to Hendry Thomas, who has far more experience leading a team. Moor didn't seem to flourish as the captain this season, having possibly his worst year as an MLS player, and certainly his worst since joining the Rapids.

Still, Drew Moor's worst season still produced some fine play from the guy who might be the most consistent player on the Rapids this side of Pablo Mastroeni. He was once again the Ironman of the team, playing more minutes than anyone else. His defense was still solid, even if the guys around him weren't playing up to his level. He could still score on set pieces, though he still struggled to provide service as a left or right back when he was shifted by Oscar Pareja.

If he settles down a bit and has better personnel around him in 2013, I have no doubt that he will be right back to the quiet star he's been in years previous.

I'd be frustrated too, Drew. I'd be frustrated too.
