2012 Player Rating And Review - Pablo Mastroeni

Pablo Mastroeni played in two games last year. The Rapids won both of those games. COINCIDENCE?! Yeah, probably.

Through the month of December, Burgundy Wave will do a short review of every player who received even a paltry sum of minutes in 2012. We start with the goalkeepers and then move our way up to the forwards. Today, we'll cover Pablo Mastroeni.

Damn injuries!

OK, so small sample size and all that, but I'm just going to say this -- the Rapids were 2-0-0 in games where Pablo Mastroeni played last year, and 9-19-4 in games without him last year. They also had one of only two (TWO!) non-shutout victories all season with him on the team.

I, for one, am glad that he's back in the playing state of mind. Even if he's not going to play every game next season, and with his age and now concussion history, he probably shouldn't, his presence alone might be enough to help the team's confidence and morale.
