2013 Rapids Player Rating & Review - Marvell Wynne

Marvell Wynne was up-and-down in 2013, and might not end up having a job in Colorado in 2014 because of his streakiness.

As we do every year, through the month of December we'll be doing ratings and reviews of every player who played even a slightly significant amount of minutes for the Colorado Rapids in 2013. We'll start from the goalkeepers and move our way up to the forwards. Today, we'll cover Marvell Wynne.

Name: Marvell Wynne
Number: 22
Appearances: 28 (2315 minutes)
Stats: Two assists

Last season, we were rather down on Marvell Wynne. He was coming off of a rather bad season that saw him fail to live up to the performances he had under Gary Smith at center back. I asked at the time for him to be moved to right back, and Oscar Pareja did indeed put him back at his original position.

He was better than last year, but he was unfortunately streaky throughout 2013. When he was good, he was good. Unfortunately, for every solid performance he had, he seemed to have a game or two where he would trip up and occasionally give up absolute stinkers.

Shane O'Neill may end up getting the right back spot next year with Diego Calderon back and a few solid performances at that position under his belt. Where does that leave Marvell? Couldn't tell you, but he may be getting paid a bit too much to be a bench player. Until then, he gets the middle-of-the-road player rating.

Get it, cause he sometimes had coverage problems hahahahaugh.
