2013 Rapids Player Rating & Review - Danny Mwanga

Hoo boy. For all the great signings the Rapids made in 2013, there was Danny Mwanga to put the stank on things.

As we do every year, through the month of December we'll be doing ratings and reviews of every player who played even a slightly significant amount of minutes for the Colorado Rapids in 2013. We'll start from the goalkeepers and move our way up to the forwards. Today, we'll cover Danny Mwanga.

Name: Danny Mwanga
Number: 55
Appearances: 13 (556 minutes)
Stats: 1 assist (He had an assist?)

2013 is a year we'll probably remember for its great signings. Guys like Clint Irwin, Dillon Powers, Deshorn Brown, Chris Klute (they signed him outright, still counts) and Gaby Torres all seem like potential world beaters for this team for years to come. And then you have Danny Mwanga.

Mwanga came into the team with a bit of hype behind him. He was great for the Union before Nowak-ball drove him into Portland, where he was played out of position and didn't do much of anything. Colorado was supposed to be where he found that rookie form again. Instead, he was perhaps the absolute worst player on the team. Despite being given plenty of minutes to give it a shot, including five starts, Mwanga had absolutely nothing up his sleeve.

The highlight of his year was being included in an MLS video about his life. On the pitch, he did absolutely nothing to show he was worth the first-round pick they shipped off for him. He's not likely to get many more chances next year either, with Gabriel Torres now in town to stabilize the offense.

Apparently he had an assist though -- I can't remember when it was -- so I guess I can't give him a zero.

Not sure whether Danny represents the guy, the TV, the cat or the guitar.
