Game Recap: Colorado Rapids 2, FC Dallas 0

MLS: FC Dallas at Colorado Rapids Isaiah J. Downing-USA TODAY Sports

The Colorado Rapids continue rolling over Western Conference opponents, beating FC Dallas 2-0 on Wednesday night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.

It wasn’t the best first half for the Burgundy Boys, but they managed to hold off a struggling Dallas side. The visitors got their hopes up on a goal in the 29th minute, but it was disallowed due to an offside call and after the first 45 minutes, it was 0-0.

Whatever Robin Fraser said to the players in the locker room worked, and the Rapids came out with a goal on a corner kick just three minutes into the second half.

A few minutes later, Michael Barrios scored his second goal this season against his former club to put the Rapids up 2-0.

When the final whistle blew, the Rapids extended their unbeaten at home streak to eight and tied the Miami Fusion for fifth-longest all-time streak of scoring at home with 32 games. Colorado remain in 4th place in the Western Conference (as of the publishing of this recap) but with the three points tonight, they are tied with LA Galaxy and are five points behind the Seattle Sounders in first place.
