After a 1-1 draw against the Seattle Sounders, the Colorado Rapids are still looking to clinch a playoff berth for the second year in a row. There were several outcomes that could have resulted in a playoff berth without a win, but nothing came to fruition tonight.
The Rapids started strong, getting into the Sounders’ final third time and time again, but weren’t able to get a single shot on goal. On the other end, Seattle only had two shots on goal, making for a less-than-memorable 45 minutes.
The second half was looking the same way until the 66-minute mark. Rapids forward Dominique Badji got on the end of a corner kick to get the home side on the scoreboard first. It was Jack Price’s 12th assist of the season, putting him in second place in the league for assists this year.

Seattle nearly got a quick goal right away, but the Rapids held them off... until Cristian Roldan leveled the game with less than 10 minutes to go.

Seattle had a goal called back in the first half due to offside and some might say that goal should’ve been called back as well, but there was no VAR review.
With a draw, the Burgundy Boys are now tied with Sporting Kansas City in 2nd place based on points (52), but sit in 3rd based on tiebreakers. The Sounders stay in 1st with 58 points and the Portland Timbers sit six points behind the Rapids in 4th place.
Colorado extended their unbeaten-at-home streak to 14 games tonight. They haven’t lost at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park since the home opener in April.
