On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Colorado Rapids midfielder Kellyn Acosta announced that he has partnered with Martin Luther King III and the Drum Major Institute to launch the #KellynAcostaSweepstakes.

The Drum Major Institute is dedicated to “continuing the unparalleled legacy of Dr. King by fostering a culture of nonviolence and active participation in our democracy.” It was founded by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Harry Wachtel (Dr. King’s lawyer) and is today run by Martin Luther King III, Arndrea Waters King, and their daughter Yolanda Renee King.

Prizes include everything from a private 10-minute Zoom call with Acosta to signed game-worn kits and boots to an autographed soccer ball.

All sweepstakes entrants will be invited to a roundtable Zoom call on April 4, the anniversary of Dr. King’s assassination. Hosted by Martin Luther King III, the conversation will include several athletes sharing their stories of social injustice and why change is so important.

The entries start at $10 for four and go up to $500 for 20 entries, with all proceeds going to the Drum Major Institute. The contest ends on March 31. Click here for full details and to enter.
