The Colorado Rapids continue to limp along in the Western Conference, earning a point tonight against the San Jose Earthquakes.

The first half was scoreless, as neither team could really get anything going. The second half was marginally more exciting, but only because there were two goals. San Jose got on the scoreboard first off a penalty kick when Sam Vines was called for a handball in the box as he was attempting to block a cross.

Chris Wondolowski stepped up and put his shot right down the middle.

In the 81st minute, the Rapids leveled things up off a corner kick. Cole Bassett, who had a very good game tonight, took the corner kick and found the headmaster, Kei Kamara. Kamara tied the game up with his 129th career goal and 3rd of the season.

And that’s it. The Rapids got another point, which is better than nothing, but not going to cut it if they want to make the playoffs. They are currently sharing the bottom of the Western Conference with the Quakes with two games to go in phase one of the season’s restart.
