On June 30, Stephen Goff of the Washington Post reported that MLS teams were “expected to add additional advertising to their game uniforms for the return-to-play tournament at Disney World” to allow clubs to develop local partnerships (or fulfill agreements already made) while there are no in-market games and to create additional revenue for the teams.
The Colorado Rapids currently have the Transamerica logo across the front of their jerseys, but keep an eye on the sleeves when the Burgundy Boys take on Real Salt Lake on Sunday night.

The two new sponsors that the Rapids have added for the MLS is Back Tournament are World Financial Group (WFG) on the right sleeve and Western Union on the left sleeve. The Western Union logo will remain on the left sleeve after the tournament and through the rest of the 2020 MLS season.
Pádraig Smith, Colorado Rapids Executive VP & General Manager, said this of the new partnerships:
“As our team prepares to start their MLS is Back Tournament run, we take pride in knowing we can count on not only the support of our fans back home, but also the support of our long-time partners. We’re grateful to both Western Union and World Financial Group for their continued support of the club and are excited to showcase that as our team takes the field in Orlando with these new jersey sleeve patches.”
