MLS allows clubs to resume small group training

(With many restrictions in place for player and staff safety.)

MLS has announced that clubs may resume voluntary small group training on outdoor team training fields. Clubs are expected to continue to follow any local policies as well as health and safety protocols.

The league also has very strict requirements for these small group trainings, including maintaining specific zones, spacing, and physical distancing; not allowing players to change groups during training (though they may be moved around from day to day); coaches and technical staff must wear a face mask at all times and must stay on the perimeter of the field; only certain equipment may be used; goalkeepers can’t spit on their gloves and must clean, disinfect, and sanitize their gloves after each training.

The moratorium on full-team training remains in place through Monday, June 1st.
