Among the many things that COVID-19 has shut down is soccer. Yet, what hasn’t shut down are the many marvelous soccer podcasts streaming from every part of the world.
One of the reasons why I love listening to podcasts is that I learn so much about the game: the rules, formations, tactics, strategies, personnel moves—everything!
Yesterday on the Twittersphere, I posed this question:
Hey, everyone! I'm working on a @Burgundywave article about great soccer podcasts. Can you share with me some of yours and why? Looking for some diamonds in the rough! Thanks in advance!

Some of you gave some glorious answers. Here are a few of my favorites as well as others mixed in. Thanks again for the recommendations.
ExtraTime, the Official Podcast of Major League Soccer (MLS)
A twice-weekly podcast with hosts Andrew Wiebe, David Gass, and Matt Doyle who discuss not just MLS but all of the North American soccer. They have some very compelling guests—and they don’t hold back on the hard questions.

Holding the High Line (with Rabbi and Red)
Hosted by Mark Goodman of American Soccer Analysis and Matt Pollard from Last Word on Soccer, this independent podcast mainly covers the Colorado Rapids, but delves into other avenues of soccer as well. This podcast is like sitting and listening to two friends talking about the beautiful game over their favorite beverage. They do a great job of interacting with Rapids supporters.

World Soccer Talk
World Soccer Talk is a weekly podcast about watching soccer on TV, online and apps.

The Call Up
Hosted by Jillian Sakovits and Susannah Collins, the ladies cover MLS-related topics. If this one sounds familiar, it’s because Jill and Susannah came to Denver and hosted their podcast live with Kei Kamara when the Rapids had their week-long event at the Denver Dairy Block.

Current: A Rapids-Centric Podcast
“Every week we analyse and criticize the heroics or he-low-ics of our favorite soccer team with all the knowledge of failed soccer players and the humor of failed comedians.” Take a listen to Brendan Wyatt, Brian Jennings, Matt Bell, and the occasional special guest, as they discuss all things Rapids.

Total Soccer Show
“Long-running American soccer show covering the USMNT, Premier League, Champions League, MLS, and more. If you enjoy analysis and silliness in equal measure, we’re the podcast for you.”
TSS has also started two other podcasts—Allocation Disorder and MLS Assist, hosted by Joseph Lowery and ... [drum roll] Jordan Angeli! These look fantastic!
