After a couple of weeks in Southern California, Colorado Rapids Head Coach Robin Fraser is starting to trim down the roster. Initially, Fraser and the coaching staff took the 25 signed players plus 2020 draft picks right back Jeremy Kelly and left back Robin Afamefuna, 2019 draft pick defender Jacob Hauser-Ramsey, and six trialists from the Rapids Academy or outside of the club.

As of today, the following changes have been made:

  • Niki Jackson and Abdul Rwatubyaye will join Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in preseason.
  • Matt Hundley will join Memphis 901 FC in preseason.
  • Darren Yapi returns to the U-17 DA.
  • Trialists Brian Lopez, Jacob Hauser-Ramsey, Andres Alarcon, and Kwadwo Poku were released from camp.

After an impressive USMNT team debut, Sam Vines will be joining the club in California, as well as Jonathan Lewis. Designated Player Younes Namli and French winger Nicolas Benezet have also arrived in Colorado and will be joining the team in preseason.
