Rapids striker Diego Rubio will be available for Round One of the playoffs

MLS: Colorado Rapids at Houston Dynamo Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

As the playoffs get closer, there is some great news for the Colorado Rapids and their fans—Diego Rubio will be available on Sunday against Minnesota United FC.

Earlier this week, Sam Stejskal tweeted that the striker would be available and that Rubio had returned early due to concerns that he had been in contact with a positive COVID-19 case.

I’ve also confirmed that Rubio will be back and while he was around someone who tested positive at some point, he wasn’t deemed a close contact. The Chilean National Team decided to send him back anyway and he’s been in quarantine since the charter flight policy had not been put in place yet.

Rubio had three goals and four assists in the regular season, including the game-winner in the 93rd minute against the Houston Dynamo on Decision Day.
