Four Rapids players make 2019 MLS Award ballot

MLS: Seattle Sounders FC at Colorado Rapids Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

Major League Soccer released the ballots for its end-of-the-year awards last week, which lists the names of each player eligible in each category.

The Colorado Rapids had four names on the list across five categories:

  • Kei Kamara (Landon Donovan MLS MVP)
  • Keegan Rosenberry (Defender of the Year)
  • Tim Howard (Allstate Goalkeeper of the Year and MLS WORKS Humanitarian of the Year)
  • Andre Shinyashiki (AT&T Rookie of the Year)

The Rapids did not have anyone nominated for Newcomer of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, or Sigi Schmidt Coach of the Year.

Voting runs from September 24th through October 7th. Players, technical staff, and media will vote for each category and each group will get a third of the total vote. The three groups will also vote for the Best XI of the year, which is open to any player (like *cough cough* Jack Price).
