WE WON! The Colorado Rapids beat Los Angeles Football Club 1-0 tonight thanks to a header from Danny Wilson!!! The Rapids are hot my friends, and things are going in the right direction.
First Half
All in all, the first half wasn’t particularly exciting. Colorado had a good chance in the 20th minute when Kei Kamara earned a free kick at the top of the 18-yard-box. LAFC put a pretty big wall in front of him and when Kamara took the shot, LAFC headed it up and over the crossbar. After the resulting corner kick, Andre Shinyashiki crossed the ball back in but Lalas Abubakar headed it over.
But at the end of 45 minutes, neither team got a shot off and the Rapids had just 36.6% possession, so LA dominated (if you can call it that). That being said, Colorado didn’t look terrible—they gave away a few passes early but settled in and stayed organized.
Just four minutes into the second half, the Rapids got a corner kick and Danny Wilson blasted a header past LA goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega to put the ‘Pids up 1-0.

Then there was a lightning delay.
Things got started again around 10:23 p.m.—51 minutes into the game—with Conor Casey subbing in Nicolas Mezquida for Andre Shinyashiki. Howard had to jump into action almost immediately, pushing a shot on the ground out wide. The Rapids dropped into a 5-4-1 and LA kept on the pressure for the next 15 minutes. Cole Bassett was brought in for Diego Rubio in the 66th minute (and less than 10 minutes later, Bassett earned a yellow for persistent infringement).
Jack Price went down with a knee injury in the 73rd minute and called for a trainer right away. He was helped off the pitch, but did end up walking the last couple of feet on his own. Dillon Serna subbed in for Price.
After fighting back the LA attack for almost the entire second half, there were three minutes of stoppage time.
When the final whistle blew we F-ING WON.
LAFC fans are chanting "who's in last place" but like who's getting beat by that last place team rn #Rapids96 #COLvLAFC
