Many fans have been wondering when Kortne Ford was going to make it back to the pitch for the Colorado Rapids, and we kept hearing “a few more weeks.” But today, Ford tweeted about his long recovery and after another surgery, they may have finally figured things out. Unfortunately, the defender will still be out for the rest of the season.
After signing a homegrown contract in 2017 and being named MVP of the MLS Homegrown All-Star game, things were looking good for the young centerback’s professional career.
But then he missed the first 15 games of 2018 with an MCL sprain that happened during a preseason scrimmage. In the second half of the season, Ford played in 15 games (14 from the start) and was given the Young Player of the Year award at A Burgundy Affair. In 2019, Ford has not seen the pitch for a single minute due to his ongoing knee issues.
