Whether you were out in the elements at the Snow Clasico or hanging out in front of the TV at home, the match between the Colorado Rapids and Portland Timbers was an exciting one. Going into halftime down 2-1 with 10 men and seeing Benny Feilhaber come out and work the Timbers defense less than a minute into the second half gave fans hope. When Portland went back up by a goal and the seconds were winding down in stoppage time, we thought the opponent was going to get away with all three points.

But Anthony Hudson made the decision to bring in an offensive sub in the 77th minute, showing fans they weren’t giving up. Former DU Pioneer Andre Shinyashiki was coming in for his MLS debut.

And then, at 93:18, this happened:

There were several great goals last weekend, but when it came down to voting for MLS Goal of the Week, Shinyashiki blew the competition out of the water, earning 73% of the votes.

Congratulations, Andre!
