Supporters marched, fireworks explored, flags flew, and the fans roared at the 24th MLS Cup Final hosted by the Seattle Sounders at CenturyLink Field. With a record 69,274 faithful fans on their feet from kick-off to the final whistle, Toronto FC ultimately succumbed to the Seattle Sounders 3-1, with four picturesque match-day goals coming from Seattle’s Kelvin Leerdam, Victor Rodriguez, Raul Ruidiaz, and Toronto’s Jozy Altidore.
The atmosphere was electric, NFL Super Bowl-like. This 2019 season finale was a tribute to the immense popularity of Major League Soccer in North America.
Privileged to be on the pitch, here I share a collage of images that capture some of the color, people, players, match-play and pageantry.
