Mike Seth returning to Switchbacks in 2019

Colorado Springs announce the 6th former Switchback to return in 2019

The Switchbacks continue building for the future with another face from the past, signing former forward Mike Seth to the 2019 season. Seth played for the team in 2015 and 2016, before leaving for stints with Phoenix Rising and San Antonio FC in the 2017 and 2018. He has found most of his professional success in Colorado Springs, scoring 12 goals in 57 appearances. He has failed to register a goal since.

“Mike will give us a lot of versatility on the field because he has a lot of experience and has good soccer intelligence,” said Switchbacks head coach, Steve Trittschuh. “He has gained a lot of experience these last two years with a couple teams and he was anxious to come back to the Switchbacks. I look forward to working with him again.”

The 31-year-old Pittsburgh native became a fan favorite in his stint with Colorado Springs, scoring the franchises first goal, and the game winner in the teams first ever victory.

“I’m excited to be back in Colorado. I’m just ready for the season to get started and get back to work,” said Seth.

This brings the total 2019 roster to six players—all former or returning Switchbacks. While the team has an official partnership with MLS’ Colorado Rapids, the 2019 squad is filling up with mainly familiar faces from the more successful runs.

The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC open the USL Championship season on the road against the Los Angeles Galaxy 2 team on March 9th at the StubHub Center - Track & Field Stadium. They open up at home against Sacramento Republic FC March 16th at Weidner Field.
