With 10 days off since their last match, the Colorado Rapids are looking to end their winless streak and get things moving in the right direction. After their 2-2 draw against Chicago, Head Coach Anthony Hudson said they just needed to “stop the bleeding.” Hudson also said, “That was really important because psychologically we got a little break now as well. The most important thing is, after a run like this, we didn’t lose and now they’re ready to move forward.”

Defenders Kortne Ford and Axel Sjoberg are still listed as “out” on the injury list, although Ford has been making decent progress in practice so hopefully we will see him feature in the upcoming weeks. Yannick Boli was handed a two-game suspension after DisCo reviewed his red card from Houston, so he’ll be out today as the second game of his suspension.

Besides that, the Rapids should be coming into this one relatively healthy, though Danny Wilson is one yellow card away from a suspension for accumulation.

Minnesota is 1-1-3 in their last five regular season MLS games, and is coming off an Open Cup loss to Houston on Monday. They are riddled with injuries, including former Rapids Sam Cronin and Marc Burch. Recently traded Rapids defender Eric Miller will likely play, as he fit right into the starting XI as soon as he headed north. (He also talked with Jeff Rueter about his time in Colorado for The Athletic, and the interview is def. worth a read if you’re a subscriber.)

The Burgundy Boys are 0-1-1 against the Loons.

Stick around after the MLS match tonight to see the Special Olympics United teams for the two clubs take on each other in Colorado’s first match of their season.
