The Colorado Rapids are desperate to snap a 6-game losing streak tonight against the Vancouver Whitecaps. Going 9-7-4 all-time and taking seven of the last 10 games in Colorado, this could be the game that turns things around. Vancouver has tied their last four matches and will be without centerback Kendall Waston (he’s headed back to Costa Rica for international duty).
After last week’s loss, Anthony Hudson said that some tweaks were needed, so I was expecting (hoping?) to see something different in the lineup tonight, and we did. It seemed as though Johan Blomberg, Marlon Hairston, and Kortne Ford are all just about ready for some minutes, and Blomberg is getting the start tonight.
Other differences tonight: Danny Wilson and Nana Boateng are on the bench, and Axel Sjoberg and Yannick Boli are starting.
Oh, and Baldomero Toledo is the head referee tonight.
Get up to speed before the game with Brendan Wyatt’s preview here.
