The Colorado Rapids announced last weekend that rookie forward Niki Jackson has been loaned to the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. As usual, the Rapids can recall Jackson at any time during the regular season per the loan agreement. The 22-year-old from Grand Canyon University was selected in the 4th round of the MLS Super Draft and has played in three matches for the club. He scored a goal in his debut against the New England Revolution on March 10th.

Switchbacks Head Coach Steve Trittschuh said that “we’ve been looking to add some guys to the roster. This opportunity came about to help add some depth to the attacking position with a quality player.”

Jackson was available for the Switchbacks match vs. Seattle Sounders FC 2 on Saturday, April 21st and came in as a second-half sub. The Switchbacks tied the Sounders 2 0-0.
