Things could get very interesting around here very soon.
This morning, Pádraig Smith was on the Vic Lombardi Show and said the team was looking to bring on one or two new strikers.
"The main focus right now is definitely on the attacking side. We need to bring in at least one, possibly two new strikers." -#Rapids96 Sporting Director Pádraig Smith via @Altitude950 https://t.co/bDUcPV398N

A few hours later, we get this rumor:
#MLS sources telling me that #Rapids96 have pulled ahead as a front-runner to acquire #CrewSC's Ola Kamara. #LAGalaxy have also remained in talks over the striker.

For those of you who don’t know, Jeff Rueter is a generally reliable source in the world of MLS, so I trust that he knows what he’s talking about. (That being said, the Rapids have no comment on Kamara.)
But oh what a signing this would be.
Ola Kamara is a 28-year-old striker from Norway and has been playing for the Columbus Crew since the 2016 season. In his 59 appearances, Kamara has 34 goals. He’s a proven goal-scorer and reportedly wants to leave the Crew. His base salary in 2017 was $450,000 with a total compensation of $482,500.
