On Saturday, September 30th, the Colorado Rapids will play host to the Montreal Impact at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm MT and the match will be broadcast on Altitude TV and Altitude 950 AM on the Radio.

The Colorado Rapids have officially been eliminated from the MLS postseason after their 2-0 defeat against FC Dallas on Wednesday. However, there is still pride to play for and many players could be playing for new contracts in 2018. Also, Kevin Doyle announced his official retirement on Thursday. The Irish international revealed he has suffered from multiple concussions throughout his career and decided to hang up his boots.

Colorado (7-18-5, 26 points) are having a season to forget. Last season the team finished 2nd position in the Western Conference, but currently the Rocky Mountain side find themselves as the worst team in the league. One of the main reasons for this dramatic turn of events has to do with the Rapids home form at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in 2017.

Montreal (11-14-6, 39 points) are on the outside looking in when it comes to a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. On Wednesday, le Impact were on the wrong end of a 1-0 score against New York City FC at the Stade Saputo. NYCFC midfielderJack Harrison scored in the first half and his goal proved to be the difference as Montreal lost at home.

Over the past seven games, Montreal are 1-6, with their only victory coming against rivals Toronto FC. The Rapids have only won twice since early July. Colorado interim coach Steve Cooke could have a selection headache on Saturday as only Josh Gatt is questionable with a leg injury. The Rapids will play a second consecutive home fixture next Saturday against FC Dallas.
