Game Preview & How to Watch: FC Dallas vs Colorado Rapids

Both teams go into this match pretty desperate.

MLS: Colorado Rapids at FC Dallas Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

Like two feral cats fighting in a dumpster over a mostly-bare chicken leg, the Rapids meet FC Dallas tonight.

A Colorado loss means that the team is officially eliminated from the MLS playoffs, although, in reality, all of the permutations in which the Rapids could still make the playoffs involve not only winning five straight matches, but also getting favorable results from a bunch of different Western Conference teams.

The Rapids have just 1 win in their last 12 matches. The last time the Rapids met Dallas, on August 13, the result was a pretty poorly played 0-0 draw.

For Dallas, things are even worse, if you can believe that. Dallas went undefeated for the first 9 matches of the season, racking up a 5-4-0 record; they went on to have a solid June and July. And then, the wheels came off. The Hoops have been winless since July 22, including recent pastings by Atlanta, 3-0, and Minnesota, 4-1. On week 19, they were in first place. Right now, week 30, they are in eighth.

However, Dallas are only a point out of a playoff spot, and so they might come into this match full of vinegar.
