Rapids defender Kort Ford puts in late equalizer for MLS Homegrown Team

He was also playing as a striker at the time.

MLS: MLS All-Star-Homegrown Game Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The MLS Homegrown Team scored in the first minute thanks to a goal by Chicago Fire midfielder Djordje Mihailovic. Unfortunately, Chivas de Guadalajara's U-20 Team responded in the 27th minute with another goal, and then took the lead with a second goal in the 68th minute. New York Red Bull’s third string goalkeeper, Evan Louro, had a few great saves to keep the MLS side in the game, but as the clock was winding down, it was looking like the homegrown team was going to lose this one. (I believe the announcer even mentioned Mike Magee’s “first loss as a coach”.)

And then Kort Ford was moved up to the striker position. At the very last second on the very last touch of stoppage time, Atlanta United's Chris Goslin served up an amazing pass into the box from about 35-40 yards out—right to Ford’s head. Ford sent the ball in over the keeper, who looked like he wasn’t sure if he should come out or stay back, and put it in the back of the net to tie it up 2-2.

Naturally, he went full Gordo, and was named MVP of the Match.

Congrats, Kort! Making Colorado proud (and it was Colorado Day, after all)!
