On Saturday, August 12th, the Colorado Rapids will travel to the Lone Star State to play FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:00pm MDT and the match will be broadcast on Altitude.

The Colorado Rapids will look for their first victory in their past seven games, and it will have to come on the road. Surprisingly, the Rapids have not won on the road in the current campaign which is one of the main reasons why they find themselves bottom of the Western Conference. If Colorado has any chance of making a late-season run at qualifying for the postseason, it has to start with nothing less than a victory on Saturday evening.

Colorado (6-12-3, 21 points) earned a share of the spoils against Vancouver on August 5th but were unable to secure all three points as Fredy Montero’s 2nd half goal ensured that Vancouver would leave Commerce City with a road result. The 2-2 draw wasn’t fully what the Rapids wanted, but they can take solace from the fact that the offense created more chances and Axel Sjoberg and Kevin Doyle both found the scoresheet.

FC Dallas (9-5-7, 34 points) were on the wrong end of a 3-1 loss to Philadelphia on August 5th at Talen Energy Stadium. It was their 2nd consecutive loss after losing 4-0 at home against Vancouver the week prior. The Hoops are only three points back from Western Conference leaders Sporting Kansas City.

FC Dallas are lead by attackers Maxi Urruti and Michael Barrios who lead the team with 11 goals and 10 assists respectively. Colorado are currently on an 11-game winless streak on the road. That is tied for third longest in team history. The Rapids last home win came roughly 10 months ago in a 3-2 victory over Houston Dynamo.

Shkelzen Gashi made his return from injury against Vancouver, and Josh Gatt should be available for selection against FC Dallas. Bobby Burling has been listed as questionable.
