#COLvPOR: Highlights, stats, and post-game quotes

The Rapids are on a roll!

John A. Babiak - @Photog_JohnB

Another win. Another three points. Finally off the bottom of the conference - this home stretch has been everything we hoped it would be. And the Colorado Rapids have one more home game on Wednesday vs. LA Galaxy before heading on the road to take on Atlanta United, and then they come back home for two games to kick off July.

MLS Analyst recently wrote an article about home-field advantage and the Rapids are certainly proving his point, making Dick’s Sporting Goods Park a fortress again. The Burgundy Boys continue to do so while giving up the majority of possession to the other team.

Last night, the Rapids started out slow, and Portland got a goal in the first half of a defensive breakdown. But in the second half, the Burgundy Boys came out with a renewed fire and Dominique Badji and Alan Gordon both put in great goals. (Read the recap here.)

The Rapids are now 5-8-1 with 16 points, and are in 10th place in the Western Conference. We are one point behind Real Salt Lake with three games in hand, and just four points away from the red line. Things are definitely looking up, and take three points against LA on Wednesday would be HUGE.

Watch the highlights here.
