After losing five in a row, the Colorado Rapids are looking for a way to bounce back. With the San Jose Earthquakes coming to town today, this could be a chance for the Burgundy Boys to turn the season around. San Jose is the only MLS team to have a winning record in Colorado, but the Quakes haven’t scored more than one goal in each the last nine match-ups (for a record of 3-1-5). The last time the two teams met was October, when Kevin Doyle earned a brace to lift the Rapids over the Quakes 2-1.
While the Rapids are sitting at the bottom of the conference with just four points, San Jose is currently in 5th place in the Western Conference with 15 points. San Jose have won their last two games, including a 3-0 win over the Portland Timbers in Portland last weekend.
The lineup today looks a little different, with Marlon Hairston dropping back to fullback and Eric Miller getting pushed over to the left side (since Mekeil Williams is out today due to a red card last game). Looks like Pablo is trying out a 4-4-2, which should be interesting.
COLORADO RAPIDS STARTING XI:
BENCH: Kevin Doyle, Mike da Fonte, Sam Hamilton, Dillon Serna, Zac MacMath, Caleb Calvert, Josh Gatt
