With four teams playing twice this round scores were expected to be high, but even with the extra minutes the highest scores this week were only 118. My strategy of captaining someone who wasn’t on two games backfired, I should have put the sleeve on Jozy Altidore or on Dom. This week many people were disappointed with SKC’s defense, Letting in two goals against Minnesota hurt scores across the board.
BW League Standings after Week 10
The top three in the classic league stayed the same this week. Eric Lang has a 25-point lead on the second place team, Holy Shipp, and Evergreen Front is right on Holy Shipp’s tail for second place (only three points back)! After a tough week in Round 9, Counting Cronins made up some more ground, jumping into fourth place.
Going into another double game week, can teams like the Counting Cronins, Rapids BR, and Clover Rovers FC continue to climb the standings? Can teams like Wattsy Gonna Do, Los Pollos Hermanos, and O Doyle Rules stop the slide and bounce back into form?
Ball2Hand took the number one spot, the only undefeated team around, 8-1-0 after Los Pollos Hermanos lost a close one to Don Glass- 101-104. LPH has is matched up agains G'WAN THE VILLA!, who scored 106 in round 10. I’m Looking forward to this match-up.
Biggest Value Picks
CJ Sapong was the highest scorer and only played one game this week, Philadelphia have been unreliable as a fantasy option, but if Sapong can keep rolling maybe Philadelphia can continue winning.
Florian Jungwirth tied Sapong with 18 points this week, again only playing once. So much for a double game week. Solid defensive choice but I hope he gets walked on this week.
Sasha Kljestan played twice this week and scored just 5(!) points. And to think that in January we all wanted him as the number 10 for the USMNT. Costing $10.3, he is not in form and not worth the money.
Bradley Wright-Phillips again played twice and New York's offense could not put up a single goal. BWP is always a threat in front of net, but he only scored 3 points in round 10.
Players to Look for in Round 11
Another chance to take some points Toronto and Columbus have the midweek game. Both offenses are playing well, and both are coming off shutout defensive performances. Columbus is playing at home, so my bet is on their offense this week, but Toronto will still put some points on the board.
Even though the Loons did just shut down one of the best teams in MLS last week Toronto’s attack is stronger and Minnesota’s defense is still not that good, for that reason I am picking up Jozy Altidore and Sebastian Giovinco.
Total homer pick, but Kevin Doyle scored twice against San Jose last game. Huge hot take, but he does it again.
Get your line-up set by 5:30 pm MT tonight, and good luck in Round 11!
