It’s been a fairly eventful off-season so far for the Colorado Rapids and as we get closer to 2018, the first two games have been announced.
On March 3rd, the Rapids will face the Chicago Fire at 7 p.m. at home. Because they are in opposite conferences, the two sides meet up just once a year. Last year, the ‘Pids went to Chicago and got shut out 3-0. The exciting thing about the Fire coming to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park is that fans get to see a previous Rapid, Luis Solignac, and Colorado currently has a 4-game unbeaten streak at home.
Then the Burgundy Boys are heading to Foxborough to play the New England Revolution in their home opener on March 10. Last year, we played the Revs for our home opener and started the season with a 1-0 win. Again, because NE is in the Eastern Conference, this is the only time these two clubs will play each other.
What do you think about the Rapids kicking off the 2018 season with two Eastern conference opponents?
