On Sunday, October 22nd, the Colorado Rapids will travel to the Emerald City and finish the regular season against the Seattle Sounders at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington. Kickoff is set for 2:00 pm MDT and the match will be broadcast on Altitude.

The Colorado Rapids will play their final game of the 2017 campaign on Sunday in Seattle. The Sounders have clinched a playoff spot and do have a chance to clinch a top two seed in the Western Conference and therefore avoid a play-in game. The Rapids are playing for pride as a win would guarantee the Rocky Mountain side would finish above LA Galaxy in the battle to avoid bottom spot in the West.

Colorado (9-16-6, 33 points) are coming off a 1-0 home win over rivals Real Salt Lake. Despite the fact that RSL already claimed the Rocky Mountain Cup earlier in the season, the Rapids earned an uplifting victory over Real in the final home game of the season at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Josh Gatt scored the only goal of the match after a cheeky assist from Alan Gordan.

Seattle (13-9-11, 50 points) are coming off a 4-0 home win over FC Dallas and will look to have their best home record in history. Their lone home loss this season came against Toronto FC. They have also qualified for the playoffs for the 9th consecutive season. Victor Rodriguez, Will Bruin, and Lamar Neagle all scored for Seattle in the win over FC Dallas, with Bruin scoring two goals in the game.

Colorado will be without the services of Micheal Azira due to a high ankle sprain and Jared Watts due to shoulder surgery. Seattle will have to deal without Jordan Morris, Osvaldo Alonso, and Brad Evans after injuries will keep those normal starters out of the regular season finale. Tim Howard will be making his first club appearance in Seattle against the Sounders. He has featured at CenturyLink Field for the United States national team.
