If we can’t be in the playoffs ourselves, there’s nothing like spoiling it for one of our biggest rivals: Real Salt Lake. While the Colorado Rapids (8-18-6, 30 points) are working to stay off the bottom of the table, Real Salt Lake (12-14-6, 42 points) are just one point below the playoff line. Depending on what happens with other teams, a win for RSL could potentially put them in at least the 6th spot in the Western Conference. A loss would make it much more difficult to get to that last spot, especially since the San Jose Earthquakes are breathing down their necks. Things are very interesting in the West as the season comes to a close.
While the Rapids can’t win back the Rocky Mountain Cup tonight, the Burgundy Boys are still playing for a little bit of pride - and it’s always fun to beat FSL.
