The Colorado Rapids went into Frisco, Texas, after falling further behind FC Dallas the last couple of weeks in the standings, almost in a must-win situation if they wanted to have any chance at the supporters shield. And they did win, beating FC Dallas 1-0.

It was a pretty uneventful first half. The Rapids hanging back in a defensive shield and FC Dallas thinking of the US Open Cup final on Tuesday.

The Rapids scored their goal off a throw-in. Sebastien Le Toux threw it in to Dominique Badji who was able to run to the center of the pitch and got a great shot off at the top of the box for the goal. The FC Dallas backline looked quite slow on that play.

The Rapids held on defensively for the rest of the match. We will hope the injury to Kevin Doyle is not too bad, it did not look good.

Who was your man of the match? Was it Dominique Badji for the goal? Tim Howard in the net with the big saves? Or was it the hard working Dillon Powers?
