Colorado Rapids MatchDay: The Burgundy Starting XI and Game Thread

Well, we wanted something different.

MLS: Colorado Rapids at New England Revolution Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

We’ve been asking for Pablo to change something with the offense for weeks, and it seems as though he thinks it’s time to mix things up, too. Will #PabloTactics work out?

Bobby Burling and Shkëlzen Gashi are both out due to injury, and Marco Pappa is out due to illness. Gashi broke the news of his own injury before flying back to Colorado, but we still aren’t sure what exactly is going on with him. Hopefully he is back soon.

All in all, this should be an interesting game. FC Dallas is unbeaten at Toyota Stadium, and has only allowed 10 goals in 14 games at home this year, while the Colorado Rapids offense has been considerably stalled lately. Coming off of two losses in a row, the Burgundy Boys should really want this win against the Western Conference (and Supporters’ Shield) leaders. As we get closer to the playoffs every game matters, but this one is not just for points—it’s for pride.

COLORADO RAPIDS STARTING XI:

Tim Howard, Marc Burch, Axel Sjöberg, Jared Watts, Eric Miller, Michael Azira, Sam Cronin, Sébastien Le Toux, Dillon Powers, Marlon Hairston, Dominique Badji

BENCH: Caleb Calvert, Dennis Castillo, Kevin Doyle, Zac MacMath, Mekeil Williams
