Colorado Rapids vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC: How to Watch, TV Information and More

The Rapids need to pick up three points today.

After an embarrassing game against NYCFC last weekend, the Burgundy Boys are looking to pull it back together at home today vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC. And this could be the perfect game for the "mental reset" that Pablo Mastroeni mentioned after the loss. With the recent addition of attacker Sebastian Le Toux from the Philadelphia Union, and considering that the Whitecaps have allowed the second most goals against in the league (37), this is a great opportunity for the Rapids to get things going again. The Whitecaps are also missing one of their key goal scorers, Kekuta Manneh, due to his recent foot surgery.

The teams played to a 2-2 draw at BC Place less than a month ago, and the Rapids are 6-1-0 all-time vs. Vancouver at home. While the Rapids are still unbeaten at DSGP this season, we need this game to start not just another unbeaten streak, but a winning streak. LA Galaxy (36 points) is creeping up on the Rapids (38 points) in the standings, and we need to gain some ground on the Western Conference leaders, FC Dallas (44 points).

What to Watch For

  1. Despite giving up so many goals this season, Goalkeeper David Ousted and MLS All-Star Defender Kendall Waston shouldn’t be underestimated.
  2. Newly acquired Sebastian Le Toux is listed as "questionable" for today’s match, but if he does get to sub in, I’m excited to see how he looks with the team.
  3. Assuming Bobby Burling returns for this game, look for Jared Watts or Dillon Powers to slide into the suspended Michael Azira’s position in the midfield.
