It’s an exciting day for Colorado Rapids fans—the last match of the season between the Burgundy Boys and Real Salt Lake. If the Rapids win or tie tonight, we will keep the Rocky Mountain Cup for the second consecutive season! Besides RMC bragging rights, this is a really important game for the Rapids. The Rapids (43 points) are currently sitting in second place in the Western Conference, just two points behind Dallas FC, BUT just three points ahead of RSL. Though we have two games in hand, three points tonight would propel the Rapids into first place and put a little distance between us and RSL.
In case you forgot, the last time the Rapids went to Rio Tinto, a miscommunication between Zac MacMath and Axel Sjöberg led to a loss. The Rapids don’t have a great record in Salt Lake (just five goals in 11 matches), so a win tonight would definitely boost morale.
