Colorado Rapids MatchDay: The Burgundy Starting XI

The Rapids travel to the Big Apple to take on NYCFC.

With the Colorado Rapids tying six of the last nine games, I think I speak for us all when I say a win today would be great. It would also get us up there with Dallas FC for first place in the Western Conference. Not to mention increasing the unbeaten streak to 16(!) games.

NYCFC is hanging on to a two point lead over their NY rivals, the Red Bulls, for number one in the Eastern Conference, so both teams today could really use a win. While New York City FC might be missing David Villa, we are still going to see Jack Harrison, Thomas McNamara, Frank Lampard, and Andrea Pirlo on the small, Yankees Stadium pitch today. But will they be able to get through the Rapids defense (and then Tim Howard), especially on a more compact field? We will soon find out.
