The Colorado Rapids travel to Yankees Stadium today (for the first time ever) to take on the Eastern Conference leaders, New York City FC. With six ties in the last nine games and still three point behind Western Conference leaders Dallas FC, our Burgundy Boys could really use a win today. A win would get us right up there with Dallas FC, who we still have three games in hand against.
It’s no secret that our defense is strong this season, but I’m super excited to see what happens at Yankees Stadium, which is well-known for being a small (maybe even too small?) field. The smaller field will likely make the defense even more compact, which will make it quite difficult for NYCFC to get in there, especially without their offensive star, David Villa.
But the Rapids haven’t been easily scoring against their opponents recently, so it would be great to see some goals today.
