The 2016 Copa America Centenario continues on as Group D gets going today with some exciting matches (but possibly without Lionel Messi for Argentina). So for the tournament has provided some good moments and exciting soccer but only one team has really stood out as head and shoulders above the rest. Will that change tonight? We shall see.
Here is our look back at Sunday and looking ahead to today:
Jamaica 0:1 Venezuela
In this Group C matchup it was clear that both teams were going for it and looking for all three points. After all, when you group features both Mexico and Uruguay, points like this are at a premium. Quite simply, neither one of these teams generated much and seemed to be willing to play the possession game but without seriously threatening the goal. The game did feature plenty of cards, including a controversial red, but the result was probably just. With the loss, Jamaica is in some serious jeopardy as it looks like getting out of the group may be a non-starter for them.
Uruguay 1:3 Mexico
Look, Mexico was the better team last night. Of this, there is no doubt. But if you are Uruguay, you have to be pretty pissed off about:

Dear Stadium Guy--you have one job. ONE BLEEPING JOB.
Not that it would have made much of a difference in this match. But come on now.
And all of that hype about Mexico being super good and having a shot at winning this tournament? It's all true.
