USMNT vs Argentina: How to Watch, Live Stream, TV Information and More

No pressure now Lads. It's just Argentina

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The semi-finals of the 2016 Copa America Centenario are here and for the United States of America it represents an opportunity to clinch a spot in the finals of the Copa and a chance to stake their claim as the power in the region.

The only problem with this match:  the play Lionel Messi and Argentina.

No pressure, eh?

The Goal of for the USMNT:  pull off the impossible and win this game.

What to Watch For:

1)  Formations, Selections: With Alejandro Bedoya, Jermaine Jones and Bobby Wood all out for the USA it makes for an interesting roster decision and formation choice for the USA.  Who goes in?  And what formation do you run that gives you the best chance of winning.  Here is my best guess, and this is only a guess:

2)  But how do you stop Messi: That is the $64,000 question.  How do you stop Lionel Messi?  Honestly, you don't.  But you have to try and slow him down and limit his impact.  And limiting his impact will involve seeing if they can force him out onto the wings.  Messi is dangerous wherever he is at, but at least that can slow him down and force him to cross the ball in where the larger USMNT centerbacks can deal with the ball.

3)  Still a Longshot: regardless of what the US does to deal with Messi and the rest of the Argentinian attack, this is going to be a heck of a test for the United States.  I am not saying they have to play their collective best game ever, but it is going have to be damn close.  Can they do it?  Can this be the game where the USA says, we are a soccer nation and we are here to stay?  We shall see.
