The Colorado Rapids will look to stay unbeaten at home as one of the league's worst teams visits the Mile High City. The Rapids will be without Jermaine Jones and Shkelzen Gashi as both players are representing their respective national teams in the Copa America and the UEFA Euro 2016 with USA and Albania. Regardless, the Rapids will receive a boost as Marco Pappa should be available for selection.
Colorado (8-2-4, 28 points) have had an absolute dream start to the 2016 MLS campaign. The Rocky Mountain side are top of the league and are an astounding 6-0-1 at home which most likely their best home start in history. This past week the Rapids were victorious over the Colorado Springs Switchbacks in the US Open Cup at Dick's Sporting Goods Park by a narrow 1-0 margin. Dillon Serna was the difference as the Rapids struggled against a determined Switchbacks side.
Chicago (2-5-5, 11 points) have been poor so far in 2016. The league break for the Copa America Centenario just might be what the bottom-feeder club needed as the Windy City team will look to get back on track against Colorado. Chicago did have a mid-week victory against NASL Spring champion Indy Eleven as penalty kicks decided the US Open Cup match on Wednesday.
Jermaine Jones and Shkelzen Gashi will be missed, but the Rapids will look to continue their fine home form on Saturday against a Chicago team that is lacking in confidence. Hopefully the home fans will come out in force after a very small crowd witnessed the team's second victory in as many years over Colorado Springs on Tuesday night.
