Colorado Rapids 2:1 Real Salt Lake--The FIFA16 Simuation

The Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake play for the second time in a month when they meet tonight at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.  Both the Rapids and RSL are in good form and for the winner of this one it means top of the table in Major League Soccer.

I ran the FIFA Simulation this morning and here is what it had to say.  First the Starting Lineup:

Rapids Starting XI: Zac MacMath, Marlon Hairston, Bobby Burling, Axel Sjoberg, Mekeil Williams, Sam Cronin, Micheal Azira, Luis Solignac, Shkelzen Gashi, Jermaine Jones, Kevin Doyle.

The match ended 2-1 to the Rapids and by and large they held the day.  They raced out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Doyle and Jones, and although RSL got a goal, that had more to do with a defensive error than any sort of RSL deserving a goal.  Solignac was sent off for a poor challenge and Williams picked up a yellow card.  It was a solid win for the Burgundy Boys and takes them top of the table in MLS.

10th Min--CHANCE:  RSL fires wide of the net, but some questions about the Rapids defense on that one.

14th Min--CHANCE:  RSL has a dangerous free kick that Kyle Beckerman sails wide right.

18th Min--CHANCE:  Jermaine Jones misses wide right for the Rapids.  Better from the Burgundy Boys

23rd Min--GOAL:  The Breakthrough for the Rapids by who else?  Jones gets another one for the Rapids!!!!

29th Min--GOAL:  Kevin Doyle picks up his second goal of the year with a sublime finish to beat Rimando

37th Min--CHANCE:  Jones has a great effort that is stymied by Rimando

41st Min--CHANCE:  Superb save by MacMath as he holds his ground to deny Beckerman

45th Min--BOOKING:  Mekeil Williams is shown the Yellow Card for hacking down Beckerman.

45th Min (+2)--CHANCE:  GREAT SAVE BY MACMATH!!!!  Wow!  MacMath preserves the clean sheet with a great diving save

52nd Min--BOOKING:  RED CARD!  Luis Solignac is sent off for a poorly timed challenge.

60th Min--CHANCE:  Shkelzen Gashi hits the post!  Wow that was close!

70th Min--SUB:  Marc Burch enters the match for Williams

71st Min--CHANCE:  Jones with a beautiful corner kick that Doyle heads into the crossbar.

72nd Min--SUB:  Cronin is off for Dillon Powers

74th Min--GOAL:  RSL claws one back off a defensive error by Sjoberg

74th Min--SUB:  Dillon Serna enters the match for Azira

90th Min--CHANCE:  RSL is trying, but the Rapids D is holding firm
