The Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake are just about an hour away from kick-off at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in a rare match-up that features the Rapids and RSL as the two best teams in the league. Both clubs sit on 17 points going into this one and one of them will come out at top of the Supporters Shield standings.
Recent history has clearly favored Real Salt Lake as they hold a 4-9-7 advantage over the Rapids and in their most recent match in Sandy, Utah, the Burgundy Boys dropped a difficult 1-0 decision to RSL. The match was fairly even, but a massive defensive error gave RSL their goal and if not for poor refereeing the result should have been 2-0 to RSL.
The Rapids will need to play on the front foot in this match and have proven over the first nine games that they are a different proposition in 2016, but there is still a long way to go and a win in this one would show that this team truly has turned a corner.
Here is your Burgundy Starting XI:
Zac MacMath, Bobby Burling, Axel Sjoberg, Mekeil Williams, Marc Burch, Sam Cronin, Micheal Azira, Jermaine Jones, Shkelzen Gashi, Luis Solignac, Kevin Doyle
