Hello soccer fans! The MLS schedule makers have put together a pretty solid weekend for us with a number of great match-ups including that little one at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Saturday.
Here is your look at the MLS action this weekend:
Friday, 6 May 2016
Orlando City vs New York Red Bulls--5:00 PM MDT--Camping World Stadium--UniMas
MLS has a weird way of scheduling. These two teams played just a couple of weeks ago where the Red Bulls smacked Orlando City, but it was not without controversy. The Red Bulls are playing better and the Lions are strangely inconsistent. Draw.
Saturday, 7 May 2016
Vancouver Whitecaps vs Portland Timbers--3:00 PM MDT--BC Place--MLS Live
Vancouver is one of the bigger disappointments in MLS this season but they are just three points from a playoff spot and a win over Portland could take them above the red line. But the Timbers are quite resilient and I think that is enough for a draw.
Toronto FC vs FC Dallas--5:30 PM MDT--BMO Field--MLS Live
The long road trip is finally over and TFC rewards their fans with a solid and convincing win.
Columbus Crew SC vs Montreal Impact--5:30 PM MDT--MAPFRE Stadium--MLS Live
The Crew are really struggling and Montreal is tops of the east. But this feels like a game where Crew can get a win and I think they do.
Houston Dynamo vs Sporting Kansas City--6:30 PM MDT--BBVA Compass Stadium--MLS Live
Houston is terrible. Just terrible. And Sporting is overdue for a win. They get it in Houston.
Colorado Rapids vs Real Salt Lake--7:00 PM MDT--Dick's Sporting Goods Park--Altitude Sports Television
This is the big one this weekend. I have predicted this one as a draw, but it would not shock me to see the Rapids get a win. And this is important to show the league that they are really as good as we think they are. A big loss and people will start doubting the Rapids. A big win and it sends a big message. This is a great match that I think ultimately ends in a draw.
Seattle Sounders vs San Jose Earthquakes--8:00 PM MDT--Century Link Field--MLS Live
Is Seattle back? Is San Jose for real? Honestly, I think Seattle needs this one much more than San Jose does and that will impact this match more than anything else. Seattle win.
Sunday, 8 May 2016
LA Galaxy vs New England Revolution--1:30 PM MDT--StubHub Center--ESPN
New England is really struggling and the Galaxy are rolling. LA win. Big.
D.C. United vs New York City FC--5:30 PM MDT--RFK Stadium--Fox Sports 1
NYCFC is a bad team but DCU is not much better. This is an ugly draw.
