The Colorado Rapids and Philadelphia Union play for the only time in the regular season tonight at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in a match-up that, in March, looked really bad.
But now, it is a battle of the two first place teams in Major League Soccer.
Yep, the Rapids and Union both lead their respective conferences. That still sounds crazy.
So...the goal for the Rapids: win again at home
What to Watch For
1) The Streak, Part One: Quick! When was the last time the Rapids lost? Well, it's been eight games unbeaten for the Burgundy Boys since they last dropped a game. We remember the April 9th match in Utah, but since then the Rapids are 6-0-2 (20 points, 2.5 PPG).
2) The Streak, Part Two: The second, and probably more important streak is that the Rapids have not lost at home. And for a team that was simply dreadful at Estadio Richards last season (only five wins) this incredible start has been a blessing. Playoff teams win at home. End. Of. Story.
3) The Pending Break: After this matchup the Rapids have three full weeks off before returning to MLS play in mid June. They will have a US Open Cup match at home on the 14th or 15th, but this should be a time to get everyone healthy for the fixture rich summer months.
