The Colorado Rapids announced today that forward Caleb Calvert has been recalled from Charlotte Independence where he has been on loan for the 2016 season.
From the Rapids press release:
"We are pleased with Caleb's performance so far this season and his time at Charlotte has helped him develop while also gaining valuable minutes," said Paul Bravo, Vice President of Soccer Operations and Technical Director. "We're excited to have him back here with the team and we look forward to his contribution on the pitch,"
This is great news for Calvert who spent all of last year in Charlotte with mixed success, but has had a great start to the 2016 season. He has scored three times this season for the Independence to go along with an assist. For the Rapids, they are going to be a little thin up front with Copa America Centenario coming up as well as Euros 2016. And for Calvert, this is a terrific opportunity to show what he has and make his mark on the Burgundy Boys.
So what do you think Rapids fans? Are you excited with this move? Let us know!
