Game Recap: Seattle Sounders 0-1 Colorado Rapids, That's Three In A Row Versus Seattle

Th Rapids went into Seattle and came back with 3 points with a 1-0 win, getting their third straight win against the Seattle Sounders. The scoring started in this match late in the first half when the Rapids got an unexpected goal from Axel Sjoberg. He was able to get on the end of a Marc Burch corner and put it into the back of the net. The Rapids then played some good defense, packing it in and held off the Sounders.

With the win, the Rapids go back on top of the Supporters Shield standings.

The match started with the Sounders carrying most of the match, pinning them in. Clint Dempsey was able to split the Rapids defense, but Zac MacMath was able to come up with the big save. The first half continued on like this until about the last five minutes when the Rapids carried more of the possession. That’s when the Rapids had back-to-back corners and Sjoberg scored his header with Marc Burch getting the assist.

The second half began like was expected from Seattle. They brought a lot of pressure and the Rapids were getting too deep in their own half. The Rapids looked like they would extend the lead, but Luis Solignac put his shot off the post and out for a corner kick. Jordan Morris had two good looks, but missed the net both times.
