The Colorado Rapids have a tough ask on Wednesday night as they take on Western Conference rivals at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The Rapids are on a fine run of form as they are unbeaten in five and have yet to drop a single point on their home pitch. The theme is a bit different for Sporting. They are on a 0-5-1 run and have looked lost at times as they have attempted to right the ship.
The Rapids won their last time out, 1-0, over Rocky Mountain Cup rivals Real Salt Lake whereas Sporting Kansas City dropped a shocking 2-0 decision to the lowly Houston Dynamo.
For both teams the goal is simple: play well enough to win the match. Which team will get those points? It looks like it should be close, but a Rapids victory seems like it is in the cards.
Here is your Burgundy Starting XI:
