MLS Viewing Guide, Week 11

14 matches over 5 days makes for a pretty darn good week

Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

A busy week awaits Major League Soccer as there are 14 matches over five days including two for our Burgundy Boys.  As the league gets closer to the Copa break in June, it is expected to be a bit busier.

Here is your MLS Viewing Guide for Week 11:

Wednesday, 11 May 2016

Philadelphia Union vs LA Galaxy--5:00 PM MDT--Talen Energy Stadium--MLS Live

This is a curious match-up.  The Galaxy may be the best team in the league and Philadelphia is surprising many.  It's a cross country flight for LA after playing Sunday afternoon.  I think Philly gets the win here.

FC Dallas vs Portland Timbers--7:00 PM MDT--Toyota Stadium--MLS Live

So who needs this one more?  FCD on the heels of a three game losing streak or Portland who is trying to repeat as Champions?  Dallas gets the win.

Colorado Rapids vs Sporting Kansas City--7:00 PM MDT--Dick's Sporting Goods Park--Altitude Sports

This should be a Rapids win.  They are in form and KC is not.  I predicted a win for this one and I am sticking with that one.

Vancouver Whitecaps vs Chicago Fire--8:00 PM MDT--BC Place--MLS Live

Chicago is making the trip to BC place and you know what: I think they pull off the upset of the weekend and take all three from the Caps.

San Jose Earthquakes vs Houston Dynamo--8:30 PM MDT--Avaya Stadium--MLS Live

I don't care about the last game.  Houston sucks.  And San Jose is at home.  Win for the Quakes.

Friday, 13 May 2016

D.C. United vs New York Red Bulls--5:00 PM MDT--RFK Stadium--UniMas

Is there anyway that DCU wins this one?  Probably not, but that's why they play the games.  Draw, just cause

Saturday, 14 May 2016

Montreal Impact vs Philadelphia Union--3:00 PM MDT--Stade Saputo--MLS Live

This is a sneaky good battle and one that I think the Impact win.  After coming back from three goals down, anything is possible.

Columbus Crew SC vs Colorado Rapids--5:30 PM MDT--MAPFRE Stadium--MLS Live

The Rapids head on the road for the first in two in a row away from Richard's.  The Crew are not a very good team right now and appear to be falling apart.  I think this is a draw for the Rapids.

Toronto FC vs Vancouver Whitecaps--5:30 PM MDT--BMO Field--MLS Live

The Caps are struggling.  TFC is not.  And TFC is at home for just the second time this season.  Win for the Reds.

New England Revolution vs Chicago Fire--5:30 PM MDT--Gillette Stadium--MLS Live

The Revolution have to win another game right?  They look like a complete dumpster fire right now, but did show some signs of life in their loss over the weekend.  I think that's enough to carry them to a win.

Houston Dynamo vs Real Salt Lake--6:30 PM MDT--BBVA Compass Stadium--MLS Live

Houston is a tough place to play and no matter how well RSL is playing I do not think they grab a win.  But they do get a result.  Draw

FC Dallas vs Seattle Sounders--7:00 PM MDT--Toyota Stadium--MLS Live

The Sounders have a tough roadie in Dallas and the Hoops are going to prove that they are an elite team (they are) and this feels like a Dallas win.

Sunday, 15 May 2016

Sporting Kansas City vs Orlando City--1:30 PM MDT--Chidren's Mercy Park--ESPN

Sporting needs a massive home win in a bad way and they get it against a middling Orlando City team.

Portland Timbers vs New York City FC--5:30 PM MDT--Providence Park--Fox Sports 1

The Timbers welcome NYC2 to their home and this should be an easy home win for Portland.
